In the House on Mango street, cisneros wrote about the dream of a “real house” meaning not an actual house but having a home, some place that feels comfortable and safe. The way a home is described in this novel is almost a safe environment and no issues. Just because youblive in a house it does not mean that its a home it can mean living in something but it may not be a place you consider safe or not even having a family that you may not feel any relation to. I understood cisneros to want a life when going home means happiness.

I agreed with you due to the fact Cisneros owning a house means happiness. A house to herself blooms out one’s comfort zone and protection. Because one works diligently hard in order to reward one self. A place where you can call “home.”
I agreed with you because Cisneros talk about their dream house and how bad is it to not have a comfortable house. They describe the hardship they have been going through from moving to different places once in a while. They just want to have a comfortable house where they can stay for the rest of their life.
I think that a House in ” A House on Mango Street” does mean happiness, but I also think it also symbolizes wealth and social class. The house on mango street was in a bad area and was in poor condition. Esperanza’s aprents always talked about basically living the “American Dream”, which to me symbolizes social statuses.
Yeah i agree with you shashe, it symbolized weath , society status thats why they wanted to have the right house, the dream house and used it to call it the american dream house, every america want to live well, have a nice car, house, job and be label in society weathly people.
