There’s just something about Disney World that has people, especially the kids, lose their mind. From the time the guest reaches the parking lot, hits the tram, goes through security and reaches the ticket taker, they are so excited their mind shuts down and they loose the ability to listen. The children are just as bad as the adults. When a guest comes to me I find myself repeating myself a little more than I’d like to, and listening and trying to answer some of the oddest question. Then there are guests who feel as though by complaining long enough they can get anything they want. I just chalk it up to it being the magic in the air and the guest excited about being at Disney. I find that you can’t take the guests behavior too seriously and make it personal. You have to go with the flow. We as cast members are trained with specific guidelines we all have to follow, when it comes to attending to our guests and these are the four keys, safety, efficiency, courtesy, and show. Each park may handle the guest a little differently but the service we provide and the keys we stand by do not change. No matter how the guest’s mood changes, we, as cast members, are there to provide magic for the guest. It’s important that we stay positive and helpful. Although it can be challenging at times, its all about keeping the magic alive, that’s what we do.
