Traditions, I have been hearing about it since I got accepted, people were stressing over what they were gonna wear for their first day as a Disney cast member. When they explained to me what traditions was, I thought about it as an orientation, your first day of work. But they did not tell me how special it was going to be.

The article “Training Trends” refers to HVS Hotel’s proccess of hiring and training. While reading it I thought it was very similar to what Disney does as well. During Traditions The Walt Disney Company welcomes you and congratulates you for being part of the Disney team! They make you feel important and tell you why they choose you among others to work at Disney to create happiness for our guests.

The first thing they showed us during Traditions was the Disney Language, for example Backstage which means a non guest area, another one I liked was Role, Disney likes role better than position because we put on a show every time we work. Disney’s main goal is to create happiness, they repeat that over and over in order to emphasize that is why are here for. We can create happiness by telling stories and bringing those stories to life. We also want to treat every guest as a VIP which means very individual person.

Just like the article mentioned that they like to show videos of the President of the company introducing them to the company and talking about how he started from the bottom. Disney shows videos of Walt Disney, very vintage videos of the different quotes that are now very popular. Walt talks to you through those videos and makes you feel important for the company, he encourages you to make magic for our guests because that was his goal to make people forget of the world outside. He also emphasizes that Disney wouldn’t be what it is today if it wasn’t for each one of us. Just like Walt said “You can dream, create, design, and build the most wonderful place in the world but it requires people to make the dream a reality”.
