Weekly Journal #6

As October is coming to an end that only means Halloween is coming very soon. At All-Star Resort we are currently busy and getting to 100% occupancy. I work from 4:00pm-12: 30am, and usually we have at times a tough job to do because our main job in PM housekeeping we have to do guest recovery. On Monday’s it is usually one of our most busiest days because everyone either just checked in or checking in at the moment. One Monday night I was assigned to Dispatch for the night, dispatch I usually receive, monitor, and give calls out from the housekeeping department as well I get in contact with front desk, back Ops, custodial, and most importantly guests. This was the first night I Dispatched all by myself since I just cover the Dispatch break other times. It was a very busy night, I got calls from front desk concerning calls and empty rooms, I got calls from guests requesting items and other guests looking for items they thought they had left behind in the lost and found. Our room’s cleaners had rooms back to back from guest complaint about the room, checkouts and room changes because we were at 100% occupancy. It was definitely a challenged night for me but I know I was able to do my job in the correct way taking it step by step and showing my leadership skills. This was definitely a learning experience dealing with multitasking and time management. The following day in the meeting I was given a Four Keys Cards from my leader. I was so proud of myself.
