 Patient Med Hx/Evaluation:

60 year old Hispanic male. ASA I. Heavy, perio type III. No medical conditions. EO/IO no significant findings. This patient had pocket depths ranging from 4-7 mm, mostly on posterior teeth. I considered this patient was a good candidate for Arestin being that after scaling was done, his pockets depths didn’t improve as much, that’s when I explained to the patient how Arestin works asked them if they would like to have it placed. The patient was very excited to hear how Arestin works and its benefits, he agreed to have it placed and to come back 4 weeks later to see the results.

RESULTS AFTER 4 WEEKS AND SRP:

29 year old Hispanic male, ASA I, Heavy type II. No medical conditions. EO/IO no significant findings. Before scaling even started, prophy jet was used on this patient to take off the extrinsic stains he had on both buccal and lingual surfaces of upper and lower arch.  Patient was really sensitive, local anesthesia was administered for his upper right and lower right quadrants. After SRP on his right side, his exact words were “wow, i feel like i have a new mouth, and my left side is still to be completed” he couldn’t believe the results that he saw in a few hours.
