Brooklyn Waterfront in the news

I don’t think anything could be more relevant to our tour of Brooklyn waterfront than this article which was just published today in the New York Times and which I am happy to share with everybody: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/26/nyregion/brooklyn-takes-another-pass-at-revitalizing-an-abandoned-waterfront-warehouse.html?smid=pl-share

What a torrid history this location has had. I like that the rent will contribute to the BBPC (especially since they started charging $100 for educational tours). But I am concerned about the effects of the “malling” of the area.

Thanks, Anna, for sharing that article. Many of you may have seen this from today’s Style section: The Williamsburg Divide, that takes on gentrification, gritty warehouses vs. glassy condo towers, and the South Side/North Side divide.
