Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the production of presentations, boards, publications, newsletters, and portfolios;
  • Develop content for website and social media;
  • Assist with market research and business development activities;
  • Coordinate production of qualifications packages, proposals, presentation materials in Adobe InDesign;
  • Coordinate social media content.

Qualifications:

  • Matriculated in a college/university for Marketing, Art History, English, Philosophy, or Critical Theory;
  • Has a passion for branding, business development, and marketing with a genuine interest in press, social media, public image;
  • An interest in art, graphic design, and urbanism an asset;
  • Strong command of English language required;
  • Strong aesthetic sense required;
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Able to commit between 20 to 40 hours per week.

About the Research and Evaluation Division:

The internship is based in IIE’s New York Office with the Research and Evaluation division, which conducts research and evaluation projects on behalf of the U.S. government and other private and public sponsors.  The intern will work on IIE’s Open Doors® (www.iie.org/opendoors[iie.org]), an annual statistical survey of international educational mobility in the United States.  By assisting with Open Doors, the intern will have an opportunity to gain experience working on a large-scale national research project that is a valued resource in the field of international education. The intern will also assist with Project Atlas® (www.iie.org/projectatlas[iie.org]), a global community of national agencies, country representatives and academic mobility researchers who collaborate to collect and report comparable data on global student mobility.

Internship Scope of Work:

The intern will help with survey administration, data cleaning, and data analysis related to Open Doors and Project Atlas.  The intern will participate in preparing presentations, graphics, website updates, and research reports. Skills required include basic knowledge of survey research and basic statistics, attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and proficiency in Excel.   Knowledge of SPSS is beneficial, but not required.

Women’s Public Service Internship Program

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The City University of New York is proud to offer an exciting Fall internship opportunity in New York City for selected students. The Program will be coordinated by the Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program in Government & Public Affairs and designated officers at each of the City University’s colleges. The CUNY Women’s Public Service Internship Program will provide highly qualified individuals the opportunity to learn by doing in the offices of selected legislators working to benefit women and promote women’s issues in New York.

Applications and Deadlines:

Applications are now available from your Campus Faculty Coordinator or Student Affairs Office, or can be downloaded in PDF format here. Applications and all supporting materials must be submitted by July 14, 2015!

Eligibility:

The Program is open to any student who has completed 30 credits by the Fall 2015 term. Any major may apply, but students who wish to be considered should demonstrate an interest in women’s issues and policies in New York. Applicants must carry a 3.0 GPA, and must submit 2 confidential faculty recommendation forms along with their applications. Award: CUNY will award $ 2,000 to each student.

Academic Component and College Credit:

Selected participants will be eligible to earn academic credit by enrolling in a seminar and internship course on their college campus.

Internship Placements:

Interns will be expected to serve 10-15 hours per week for the duration of the fall semester. Placement will be in the local offices of female legislators at the city, state and national levels.
