20 years old Asian male patient presents with bilateral retained primary second molars #K & #T. Radiograph revealed no evidence of permanent second premolar #20 & #29. Both teeth presented with exposed root concavities, however, there was no clinical evidence of mobility.

treatment plan was modified: scaled without ultrasonic, referral was given for morphology evaluation.

Oral self care was reviewed: instructed patient use small head soft toothbrush to clean  exposed root area on  the retained primary teeth area.  Use fluoride containing mouthwash and toothpaste 2X/day

Oral self care: moderate inflammation along gingival margin due to plaque accumulation around peg lateral

Oral self care reviewed: recommended using small head soft toothbrush with modified bass brushing technique. Demonstrated modified bass brushing technique. Recommended avoid biting hard food and using fluoride containing mouthwash and tooth paste 2x/day.
