INSTRUCTIONS
• The following questions/information MUST be answered by this oral talk.
1. What is the company’s primary business?
2. Where is the company headquartered (if there are multiple locations, list those—including if it is an
international company or not) and provide its Internet address and web site.
3. What is the size of the company and its revenue from the previous year (if available)?
4. When was the company founded and what are key events in its history?
5. What are the company’s leading products to the media market and provide an overview of them. For
example, if the company is a paper company, discuss the types of paper they make and bring in samples.
If they are a software company, demonstrate their product or at least bring in an article with detailed
screens explaining their product. If the company makes binding equipment, bring in brochures showing
their equipment. If the company is a print company, is it a commercial or publication printer or book?
What type of printing do they do and what equipment do they own? If they are a publisher, be sure to find
out the production details of their products, trim size, tablet specifications, paper, schedule, print run,
demographics of current subscribers, etc.

6. What companies are currently their customers—i.e. using the company’s products? 8. Who are the company’s primary competitors? Show data comparing company’s products to competing
products.
9. What has been the print market’s reaction to recent product offerings/announcements by the company—use
industry sources such as http//:whattheythink.com, etc. for this information.
10. Information from Reviews & Analysis, both positive and negative of the company’s recent product
offerings must be included in your report. Do a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
threats) analysis for the company in your slides.
