Daily posting due by 11PM
While in Paris, each student will be responsible for one daily posting on OpenLab (this section). The posting should be reflective of the day’s excursion as a group. NOTE: Some students will be assigned as Blogger on days that do not include group activities, these students should plan to showcase any activities or discoveries experienced individually or with your peers.
Students will post photos or videos and a descriptive narrative that clearly reflects the activities of that day. Topics should reflect what was learned during the day. NOTE: Please address our donors Societe Culinarie Philantropic, (societe.culinaire), Paris Gourment, ( parisgourmentny), Julia Child Foundation, (Juliachildfoundation), in your posting.

06/04:
Today was our first Immersion Class in preparation for the upcoming study abroad program in Paris. We met with Professor Duchamp, who has been teaching students the fundamentals of understanding French culture and language for many years now. We did the fun activity of tossing a Snoopy plush around the classroom to get us to individually use the language along with as a class. We also got the chance to meet with Tinabeth and Cilvester, members of the film crew, who were kind enough to gift us the Fodor’s Travel Paris 2025 guidebook.
06/05
For our second Immersion Class, we began where we left off yesterday. As a class, we reviewed basic phrases and got a sense of what we would experience in the coming days. In groups of four, we practiced in a simulated Parisian dining experience by greeting and then ordering off a menu which gave us a sense on how to communice with local workers. Going into the homework assigned by Prof.Duchman, we discussed current news events in Paris and explored the differences between French and American culture, especially when it comes to tipping.
