As a JFEW Scholarship recipient, I was granted the opportunity to complete a summer internship at a dental office while also enrolled in a Pharmacology dental hygiene course. Balancing both commitments made for a challenging and enriching summer. Through this experience, I was able to connect classroom learning with real-world application, observing firsthand how theoretical knowledge is used in daily dental practice. I gained valuable insight into patient care, office workflow, and the day-to-day responsibilities of a dental hygienist. Additionally, I was introduced to the administrative side of dentistry, including front desk operations and insurance/billing procedures. This internship was a meaningful step in my professional journey, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity.
