I’m Stephanie Gomez, a passionate and detail-oriented dental hygiene student committed to promoting oral health and patient education. My mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality care while making each patient feel comfortable and informed during their dental visits. My decision to pursue dental hygiene was driven by a passion for health care, a love for working with people, and a desire to make a real difference in other’s lives. I’ve always believed that a confident smile can change someone’s entire outlook- and I wanted to be a part of helping people feel good about themselves while improving their overall health.
In addition to clinical care, I’m especially interested in community outreach and public health. I believe everyone deserves access to quality oral care, and I’m dedicated to making a positive impact by educating underserved populations and promoting preventive practices. As a Hispanic woman born and raised in Brooklyn in a low-income family, I witnessed firsthand the challenges that people in my community faced with medical and dental care- not just abroad, but here in America too. These experiences opened my eyes to the disparities in healthcare and inspired me to be a part of the solution. Volunteering has been a turning point for me, that has aloud me to do so.
I chose dental hygiene because I wanted to educate and empower people like me- people who may not have had access to regular dental care or the knowledge to maintain their oral health. I believe everyone deserves the chance to feel confident in their smile and take pride in their health.
For me, becoming a dental hygienist is more than a career- it’s a way to give back to the community, to provide comfort and care, and to help people find another reason to smile.
