It has been a month since I had worked on my Internship. There has been a lot of stuff I had learned on my Internship which is a good thing such as understanding Bitrix24 and inviting Leads to CRM (Customer Relationship Management). On the other hand, what I had been getting a headache on was the fact that I have not done any creative work on my internship as most of my work had been like typical office work and inviting leads every weekday. It is a hard debate for me if this is the right internship for me, but I wanted to join and enjoy GAO Tek because I wanted to learn more about Digital Marketing and this position is about Social Media Marketing.

Regardless of being in a different internship spot, I am still gonna try to continue with my internship and be able to learn more. Luckily, I am able to talk and get help from my co-workers and I am gonna try to invest a bit more time in reaching the work requirement. Additionally, I will ask my supervisor and my boss if they are able to provide me any Visual Design work I can at least help in.

Each weekday, I work at least around 2-4 hours on my internship routine, searching for leads using Linkedin and following with interested people to obtain proposals for GAO Tek when they are ready. I currently had reached a total of 22 leads which is a decent number compared to other interns. Despite that some interns were confused or having trouble, I had done my best to help other interns to keep the team on progress. Even that this is the kind of internship work that I was not hoping to work, it is nice to have other work experience in other areas, especially for Social Media Marketing. The only feedback I dislike is how limited Linkedin is and that we are only limited to use it to deliver leads, especially that we can only deliver a certain amount per month unless we spend hundreds of dollars per month.

On the other hand, despite some tough work, I had been notified by my boss of the workplace that I may enter into a new team where I will be in charge of designing using Adobe Indesign and Photoshop to help with the project. I do not know when it will happen as of yet or uncertain if that would be possible, but it is coming soon and I would be interested to help out with the skills I had used every day and throughout my college semester.

On January 20, 2021, my internship provider from GAO Tek invited me to a social enterprise platform called Bitrix24 which is a website I will be working on my internship. At the training, I was invited to a Zoom meeting at 9 am EST for about an hour on what will I do for the Internship. The goal is to create proposals by finding leads using Linkedin every weekday. Leads are people that may be interested in participating and are in our contacts.

Below enlists my responsibilities of what I have to work during my Internship period.

– Sending 20-50 invitations to people using Linkedin related to construction in my assigned countries (Some of my assigned countries is Warrington, England)
– Adding people into CRM using Bitrix24 and in an excel sheet for those that accepted the invitation.
– Following up with the people if they are interested or willing to submit their proposal using Gaotek’s email.
– Joining Summit Presentations as much as possible.
– Working at least 20 hours per week (4 hours per weekday), can work at any time.

 

My internship had recently started around the end of January and I am continuing to work until May 2021. At first, I was really confused and struggling with what kind of internship I entered into because of new sites and training that I had never seen or worked into. However, after asking several questions to my team leader, I was able to get a grasp on what I need to do for my internship and how I was able to manage time between internship working, my 5 college classes, and my chores including showering, brushing my teeth, and more.

A tip for those that are confused or having a headache on working a job or internship you are not familiar with, it is advised to ask as many questions to your supervisor so you understand what you need to do and manage your time between working and your daily-tasks.

I just entered into my Internship on January 19, 2021, where I just got training from Gao Tek on the internship and they brought me to a Summit Team which seems really new and different.

For my search progress on the Internship, I used Linkedin to find internships that suited my interests which I started early December 2020 when I was late to the Senior Orientation about the Internship class. During my Fall 2020 semester, I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to work for a career in Communication Design. However, one of my professors I had during my college experience was able to negotiate my career path and work with me to develop my own portfolio website using Wix.com and discussed that my graphic design passions have been focusing on the marketing industry, to sell a product or service.

With my professor’s help, I was prepared to find an internship with a website and a resume I had created. As I am still new to the Marketing Industry, I wanted to find an internship in marketing which I had applied for several technology companies that interested me. One of the internships I got accepted was from a company called GAO Tek which contacted me via Linkedin message. Afterward, I sent my resume and started a voice-chat interview after a week on what position I wanted to work for which was “Graphics, Visual Design, Image Editing”. This is the very first internship I applied and it was also an online internship.

As of now, I had been noted that of now there’s no graphic design training yet from one of the HR managers in GAO Tek and instead I am in a summit training with an assigned team. My current internship work as of now is to find proposals using Linkedin to invite interesting speakers on discussing the advancement of technology or business tips to be successful. Alongside finding proposals for my job, I also have to participate in joining presentations to gain practical knowledge from the industry’s top experts. Some of the presentations were useful to know about Marketing. Lastly, another part of my internship is to keep in check with my team members on a website called bitrix24.com.

Overall, I do enjoy that I can work on this Internship at any time, provided I do work 20 hours a week (4 hours per weekday) and participating in presentations. I mostly expect that I would also get some training in Graphic Design later on or even some knowledge about marketing throughout the rest of the Internship.

This is a Citytech student named Stanley Quach.

I recently got hired to work at a company called GAO Tek as an Intern for this semester at NYC College of Technology. I am pretty excited to learn more further on the Marketing aspects of the job or career, especially since my primary goal is to work as a Graphic Designer in Marketing. At the same time, with 5 classes including an Internship class and the Internship I applied for, I hope that I am able to manage my time and complete all the work without stressing myself. On December 25th, I got accepted from a company called GAO Tek which provided the position of Social Media Marketing. I am really excited to learn more about this position and even took their interview.
