Questions

  • How do we change the commercial design field to include a diversity of voices and visions?
  • What will the commercial design field and the study of design history look like in 20 years?

Response

We changed the commercial design field to include a diversity of voices and visions. By adding different typefaces and colors to the commercials, because according to Typography as a Radical Act in an Industry Ever-dominated by White Men by Silas Munro it says that typefaces have meaning to them when they were first names/created. The commercial design field and the study of design history will look very different 20 years from now. You would see different typefaces used and probably more colors and new typefaces that are created.
