Color Harmony : Phase 4

In this project i learned the dominance colors have in an image and in real life . I also learned the progressions of  hue made by adding black or white. These color references could be used in the future, for example if i where to  design a poster or a magazine i would use these techniques to make them stand out.

Color Harmony: Phase 2

this a photograph i found in the internet, here the dominant color is a green while the sub dominant color is more of a muted peach. the accent color being a vibrant pink. the progression from the peach color to the pink is called a two color progression, also the progression from red to black is called a shade.

Color Harmony: Phase 1

this picture shows a shadow progression because the sunset made the scene go from black to yellow.

this picture shows a tint progression because the sky is going from white to blue.

this is a two color progression because the flower has a red to violet progression.

Color Interaction parings : Phase 1

when i use the color interaction application it was difficult getting colors to look differently. But after a while i was able to get the concept and make the colors interact with each other creating a slightly different effect. while researching color interaction it was interesting to know that the perception of color is different from what it really is, i also noticed that a person does not fully see color  in its true form because there is a certain extent in which our eyes perceive color.

Color Interaction parings : Phase 4

I really enjoyed doing this project because it was different in a good way. for example it was kind of difficult creating a symbol for my partner but it was really fun finding out what her likes and dislikes are. i also found that we shared many things in common. During the process of this project i learned to use colors to represent people, or how color can represent something. this project was really enjoyable to make.

phase 1. phase 2, phase 3

Color Interaction parings : Phase 3

In this project my partner and I asked each other questions in order to get a feel of what type of personalities we had and how we would interpret each other. For my partner I  already had the color in my head before we even started asking each other questions. I had chosen the color blue to represent her but I did not know what type of blue i should have used, soon after talking and asking questions I had come up with a chromatic blue to represent her because while speaking to her i had the image of the ocean and waves that rush to the shore and leave soon after. it matched her personality because she likes things that are fast paced. As for the butterfly, i think it matches her because it symbolizes nature. In which we both have in common and it is also really fast when it takes flight. while making the butterfly i decided to make  the design of the wings into a semi geometric  shapes because i remembered how she liked music that had a staccato rhythm.  In the end we decided to use a muted pink with a lot of white to represent us because in some aspects we are both neutral to things and we like to keep things peaceful.

Saturation Studies: Phase 3

My partner and I chose to do a Swiss style  poster and we also had a cool color palette.  we had a challenge coming up with the names for our main band and opening band. after a while we came up with the name pop marine for our main band and as for our opening bands we came up with warmless touch and killing stones. My partner and had already come up with the color blue as our cool color. I chose Madison square garden as the location for the bands because it felt like it would go well with the band name, It is also a well known location where many of concerts take place.

Midterm post

During this semester I learned to look at the world differently, the things I would once walk by now I find myself staring or thinking about them. So far in this semester I really enjoyed the projects we have done so far because they were different and really fun to do. Sure at some point it was difficult and frustrating but getting over that hurdle really felt great. I really look forward to what else we learn next or if there are any habits we pick up after all these projec
