Founder/Co-Founders: Who founded the company? Are they still involved in day to day operations?

Anthony Casalena is the Founder of Squarespace, Inc. He started the company in 2003 in his dorm room of the University of Maryland. He is also the current CEO (Chief Exceutive Officer).

In broadcast television, radio, online, magazines, and newspapers. They were in SuperBowl 2015 too.

Competitors/Competitive Advantage: What companies offer services/products that compete with your chosen company? What sets your chosen company apart from its competitors?

WordPress is one of the biggest competitors of Squarespace.

Squarespace makes it easy for beginners to advance level users to build websites. One can drag and drop content easily. Unlike this, one need to commit weeks to learn how to use WordPress properly.

Squarespace has better support team unlike WordPress.

T-Mobile

Dear Hiring Manager,

I’m interested in your posting on LinkedIn for an Engineer for RF Deployment, and I think you will find I am an exceptional candidate for this position. As a Pricing Analyst professional for over seven years and a recently graduated student from engineering school, I know my diverse skills, qualifications and education will make an asset to the T-mobile team.

As you can see in the attached resume, I have been through the high tides of financial crisis of 2008 and number of different acquisitions and merger of the company after that. I have seen 101 ways for failure of a company and learned a lot from these failures. With profit and loss analysis over the years, I have helped company save millions of dollars. With initiation to numerous automation of software, I have helped manage data effectively and efficiently which helped reduce manpower.

I am passionate fan of mobile communication system since 2004 when I studied wireless communication and Antenna design for the first time. I have been following T-mobile’s 4G LTE deployment since the beginning. It’s a positive result that the “Un-carrier” move of T-mobile has revolutionized U.S. cellular communication landscape.

I am thrilled at the possibility of being involved in RF Deployment. I would love the opportunity to meet with you and discuss the value I can bring to T-mobile. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Surendra Khadka

Surendra Khadka: Mini-Job Search

This June I’ll be graduating with Bachelor in Telecommunications Engineering Technology. I’m interested in finding job in wireless industry. For the technical side, I don’t have any other certifications beside this degree which I’ll get in near future. However, I have been working over past seven years in telecom industry. Currently, my position is Pricing Analyst for Angel Americas LLC located in Manhattan. I am proficient on Microsoft Office and Outlook. I do use other software customized for prepaid calling card industry. I am good at problem solving, analyzing situation and decision making, & taking responsibility. I can work with minimal support from supervisor. I have good communication skills both written and verbal.

Since I work for finance department and my education is Engineering, it seems finding a new job with equal or better pay is a tough road for me. After graduation, I do not want to go for entry-level jobs in engineering field. But, a little better-paying jobs requires a lot of experience (3-10 years) in related field. To be honest, this “Mini-Job Search” certainly does not make me feel good about the future. However, on the bright side, some of my skills and my understanding of Corporate America is transferable to a new job. Education here at CityTech has not prepared me to meet these employers’ need.

Surendra Khadka

Hi everyone,

This is Surendra Khadka. I was born and raised in Nepal, Southeast Asia. I love to listen to the music especially from Bollywood, Indian movies. I like to sing as well; but i am a bathroom singer 🙂 . I follow politics, especially, international affairs. In free time, i like to read world history, which gives us the idea where we are and how we came here.

I Came to New York in 2006 and living here since then. I have joined Bachelor in Telecommunications Engineering Technology in CityTech as a part-time student in 2008. Because I work full-time, I took classes only in the evenings. As you may know, being first generation immigrant in the United States is not easy. The journey in CityTech wasn’t easy as well. Especially in my major, I have noticed less numbers of students, and therefore, there was only one open session per course. And, if you add meeting per-requisites and co-requisites scenario, it took me almost eight years for a four year degree. Finally, this is my last semester. Finding a job related to my major is my primary goal at this point. This summer, after graduation, i am planning to go visit Nepal. Then, as soon as i come back I’ll quit my current job and find a new one.

As a writer, I am not the person who can articulate things and go around the subject matter and make a long/large statements. I can certainly write; but kind of short and sweet. I do like to write. Once i write down your ideas or take about the subject matter is there. I feel a sense of achievement. But, i certainly don’t like those 7 pages long type of paper that we are required to write in English composition classes. That’s pretty long.

Regarding using technologies, i have knowledge of computer hardware and software. i know basics of few programming languages. I do use Smartphone as well. I have experience of using Microsoft Office at my work for past 7 years.

Technical writing- I think this course is similar to the one i took few semester ago. I this course includes writing a memo, letter, email, report etc. anything that will be needed in business environment. I hove to learn these stuff well and use these knowledge and skills throughout my career.

I will be interacting with you n other posts throughout the semester. Thank You for your time to read this post!
