I picked Karla’s because of how funny it is and I really like the amount of creativity she sued for it such as the hair. The hair really stands out to me. It reminds me of when someone gets up from bed and their head would be all messy.
A suggestion would be to just lower the image because it’s to close to the top so just centering it would be nice and make everything fit right.
For today’s lab I choose Elijah Archer’s work.
His food face is very simple, yet funny, and the shapes of each food item make the face look more realistic.
The bright colors he chose for each element make the composition engaging, I just feel that the sliced cheese he used for the base of the base makes it look a little plain, maybe because the shape is geometric, but other than that, this is a really good work.

I chose to give my feedback on Rebeccas work. Personally, I think that the eyes are working very well, and it looks like there is 3 elements if I’m not wrong but they work so well it looks like there is just two. However, I also like the eyebrows as eggplants and how they are showing an emoting from the fruit face, it makes us feel like the character has feelings.
My one and only suggestion for your work is just the lip area it looks a little out of place so I would suggest to just move it around to see if there is another position that might make it look more pleasing.

I choose Karla’s work, I like how the foods colors look well together enough to look like a goofy character from a children’s show and the hair looks like it was made from paper instead of food too.
I chose Alejandro’s work. His work immediately reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Coraline by Henry Selick from looking at the eyes. The face depicts a young boy to me with the element of the banana as the mouth, the strawberries for red cheeks and the lollypop as the nose which is very playful. The face has emotion of someone happy. The tomatoes really look like ears from the details of the tomatoes. I also like the color scheme and the texture from the bread adds to the face which gave it more life.
My only suggest would be to center/align the elements. I know it can be quite tricky with the shape of the bread but overall I really like this.

I chose Luis’ work. The food shapes chosen for this really caught my attention. Its very funny and actually looks like a face with certain foods to look like hair and just the composition in general looks very nice. Overall amazing work and engaging to look at.

I’ve chosen Jazmyn work.
What works for me is how the image of the pomegranate was used as the hair as well as the neck of the whole photoshop, rotating the image and having a the stem of the fruit be the neck of the face. What also works here is the repetition of some images of foods like the eyebrows, the earrings, the ears, the eyes, just those uses of the image and scale to make a face.
What doesn’t work is the slice of the pineapple leaves on the forehead of the image just feels extra and out of place.
What I would suggest to improve is to remove the pineapple leaves on the for head.
Overall, I think the photoshop work look great.
Looking into Frank’s work.
What I thought worked very well are the grapes as hair, reminds me of a nappy hairstyle. I like how the face is made up of pork, it gives an organic look and I get the impression this creation could be alive.
What I think isn’t working is the candy cane as its nose. The neon purple seems out of place, considering the majority of the face’s colors have warm, earthy tones.
One suggestion I would give is to center the grapes more. At the leftmost of the face there’s a gap that doesn’t communicate the hair is encompassing the ‘head’.

Use of Materials:
• Croissants as eyebrows — clever, the curved shape works perfectly
• Pink donuts as irises — playful and colorful
• Mango slices as cheeks — nice warm tone match
• Watermelon wedges as ears — good scale and color contrast
• A macaron as a nose — subtle and well-proportioned
• A chocolate heart as the mouth — adds whimsy and emotion
Overall: A genuinely creative and joyful piece — the food choices show real lateral thinking.

My thoughts on Jazmyn’s work-
The photoshop work is clean and makes all the elements work together, despite their being many. The face is full of personality, expressive and very playful, the use of colour also ties the face together. great work!
