Overview

Type Challenges are short assignments that we do during class. The objective of this assignment is to familiarize yourself with posting to OpenLab.

Instructions

  • Make a new post:
    • Go to the DASHBOARD>HOVER OVER “POST”> CLICK “ADD NEW POST”
    • ADD title  “yourlastname_firstname_TC_OpenLab_setup”
    • Click “Type/to choose a block” right under), answer: “what is your favorite typeface and why?”
    • Add an image to that same post:
      • Design a name tag for yourself. Try to use expressive lettering to convey who you are or how you feel.  You can sketch or use any font application you want.
      • Name image file “lastname firstName_tag”. Upload the photo of your name tag to your post. 
    • Select Categories for Post
      • In the menu to the RIGHT of your post, select POST. Under POST, click CATEGORIES, then select the following categories:  “Student Posts ” and “Type Challenges”
    • Finally, click PUBLISH

Adding a Post:

  1. In the WordPress Dashboard, click on the tab Posts > Add New to create a new post
  2. Add a title in the title box at the top.
  3. Add an image (Add > Media) or formatted written content using the Post Editor.
  4. Add the relevant Category (choose from the existing list).
  5. Click Save Draft for later or click Publish to publish immediately.
