Our in-class assignment was as follows:
- Brainstorm a list of individuals that you could write about in terms of your relationship.
- These should be people or a person who important in your life, who you can about write at least five times
- These should be in-person interactions so you can use concrete detail when describing the place, the time, the person.
After you’ve chosen one person to write about, begin:
•Describe one specific experience with that person. Write at least five or six sentences.
•Then, skip a line and describe a second scene with that person. Consider moving farther back or further forward in time.
•If you have time, skip a line again and jot down or begin writing a third time with that same person.
As you develop this series into a set of micro essays, remember that these fragments should connect into an essay that is drawn together by your reflection and shaping of the events.
