“What’s In A Name?: A Lot As It Turns Out”

We are reading this short article, “What’s In A Name?: A Lot As It Turns Out” about the comic book artist Max Pauson  because most of us don’t even consider not having a name. This article by Erik Eckholm (note: this is not a memoir) explores the life experience of a writerborn in difficult circumstances without a legal name. Though he was born in the United States, not having a legal name resulted in issues with driving, traveling, and entering college. (You have to read the story to find out how Pauson handles this.)

As you read this article, ask yourself: how do you take the simple fact of having a name for granted?
