Nalo Hopkinson-How to Write Descriptively

This video by TedEd and the fiction writer Nalo Hopkinson discusses the importance of detail in fiction writing. It is language and detail that helps a writer cast the necessary spell to keep the reader close. Unlike film and theater–two other story telling forms–which pull the reader in through a variety of sensory means, fiction must do this through language alone.
