One time I was searching for my bag after ballet. I was so sure that I left it one of the studios which I did. On my way back to the studio to get my bag, I passed a bench that had all of my stuff on it, but of course I did not pay it any mind. When I went back to the studio, it was empty. The custodian was mopping it out and I was worried that he threw it away. So I asked him for it and he brought me to the bench which I passed earlier. When you are focused on doing what you have to do , your mind is focused on that one objective.

Awareness & Focus
so as a lifeguard I thought writing about attention & focus would be an easy assignment for me. I remember one time at Betsy head pool, 4:00 ish, in August, i was watching the water like I often do. Someone’s child approached me a little upset and said ” Did you not hear me talking to you?”. I did not hear the girl beacause I was looking for people who needed help.
observation and attention- Jennifer Urban
Labor day I spent it hanging out with some friends. For the first 30 mins I observed them using their phones. I calculated who picked it up the most times and then realized why was this important to me so I decided to tell them about my observation then began observing them again after I told them. After telling them I realized that they noticed my every move after words. They looked at me as I jotted each observation down and by the second half of the hour I realized that they used they’re phones less. This observation to me was important because it shows that humans do not realize what others around them are doing unless you point it out. This observation reminds me of the video we saw in class and how mostly everyone missed the person in a costume walking towards the middle of the scene. These two observations relate because it proves how humans can be deceived by their eyes when told to complete one specific task or not told at all.

Observation on Attention-Yuseth Lopez
I was at work and Fridays are the busiest and long day at work, where people drive you crazy. There’s always one customer that is so picky, rude and changing their mind like every second or whom kids always go crazy in the store. I was helping a lady that had three children, therefore the mother seems so stressed out and tired. She had a basket full of cookies, donuts, bread, and drinks, but, she had put them in a plastic bag and then decide that she wants them in a counter. Therefore, I took them out the bags and neatly put them in the box, then she tells me that she wants to buy a birthday cake in which I also pack. She paid with a credit card. I gave her receipt and card back, in which she put it in her bag, but, since one of her kids was trying to take off his shoes. She had her attention to him and somehow she forgot that she had put them away. The lady left the store with her kids. It only took her like five minutes to come back to the store and ask me for her credit card. I told her to check her bag and she found the card. Recently I have notice few moms forget receiving their card after paying. Every person is distracted in their own world and it’s hard to focus more than one situation. One can physically do things but mentally forget what they have done just in second. We only allow our mind to do one thing and block the rest without unconscious knowing.

Ricardo Condado – Attention Assignment
Attention can make one focus on one thing and distract them from their surroundings. For example, I’ve personally experienced this. This happened in June. I was on my way home, meanwhile I was in an argument with my friend through text. I was very focused on the conversation. As I got into the bus I took a quick glimpse to see if there were seats available. As soon as I get in a spot on the bus I receive a text from my father. It read, “look at the back of the bus.” I quickly turned my head and see my father sitting down. I didn’t notice him at all as I was focused on the argument I had with my friend.
Gustavo Diaz’s observation on attention
A negative focus experience that I’ve had came this past April while watching the show Game of Thrones. I was focused on the goal of watching all 5 seasons before season 6 premiered. I had 50 episodes to watch (10 episode per season) in about two and a half weeks. while i accomplished my goal while rushing at times and focusing on the story line of the obvious main characters, there were things that my brain couldn’t catch on to. Until almost the end of season 5 i thought two completely different characters were the same person. Gendry and podrick are two different characters in Game of Thrones with obvious different names but for some strange reason it took me way too long to figure that out. Maybe i was focusing so much on the bigger characters that my brain didn’t care enough to separate this two smaller side characters or maybe i should of started the show with a open mind and not rushed through it.

Attention observation assignment Titilope Odumuwagun
Attention means application of the mind to an object or thought. Also attention means noticing something or a special consideration for something . therefore attention in psychology can be referred to as a person concentrating on a feature in ones environment in exclusion of other things . But surprisingly peoples mind do not pay much attention to good things or things that go well rather they paid more attention to things that do not go well or things that are bad. So we can conclude from here that human minds filter out things that they are less worried about . Furthermore, our minds tends to focus more on what we are worried about and making us ignore other things around us. Well we can further explain this using my personal experience. I had to meet with my English professor few weeks ago. I checked her office hours and realized she would be leaving the office in two minutes. It was compulsory that I meet with her that day, so I decided to catch up with her before she leaves the office. I was so worried about meeting her at the office that I didn’t imagine I could meet her on my way. About 45 feet’s to her office my professor passed by me and I didn’t notice her instead I walked faster towards her office . On getting to her office I was told she just left the office about a minute ago. At that moment I had a flashback and a feeling that I saw her but I wasn’t paying attention to other things around me while I walked to her office. I didn’t notice her even though she was very obvious and I desperately wanted to see her, yet it seems funny to me that my eyes saw her but my mind ignored her. Well this observation can be explained in psychology. It is termed INATTENTIONAL BLINDNESS.

Observation and Attention
A personal experience in which I have gone through where I lack Observation and attention was at work. I was in my supervisor office on her computer entering documents into a database system, where at the office she has two giant windows where you can clearly see right through them to whomever is passing in the hallway. While, I was on the computer my Clinical director and CEO of the company pass right by the office windows and wave through the window to my supervisor who was behind the computer of me. When I turn to my supervisor to ask her why she was waving she told me whom just pass by I didn’t see anyone pass by I said. Then, I realize was so focus on entering the data into the system that I was aware of what just happened right in front of my face.

Attention assignment
I’ve experienced how people’s attention and focus can be altered and sometimes not be focused at all. I believe it mainly depends on what your mind is focused on and where your mentality is at the moment. My friends were actually an example to this statement about 5 days ago their classes ended at the same time as mine so we agreed to meet each other after classes and i gave them a specific location of where to meet up. I gave them specific directions and they both walked past me and didn’t even recognize me , i even walked behind them and they still didn’t realize i was there . Both of my friends we’re so focused on the location given they weren’t attentive to their surroundings. I’ve experienced myself as well it actually happened today which reminded me that i had to write this but instead of a person it was an object. I was walking on to the train and I turned to me left and recognized there wasn’t a seat towards the corner only one parallel to it and when i sat down on the other side of the train i looked to my left and where i thought there was no seat there was actually a single seat. I put an image of two seats in my head and that’s what I expected to see so when i looked in that direction i didn’t see two seats so I disregarded the fact that there could potentially be one seat.
