Hi Classes. I posted a “Contract” recently. I will explain it in class further. It governs our future Lab/Fireside/Circle conversations.

Thank you all for posting! A few notes: do you notice that many of your photos are sideways? To fix that you’d have to go back into the post and edit the photo (hit the “pencil” icon, then “edit original”) to turn it sideways and make it larger (“full size”) while you are at it so that we can read it. Thanks. Also if a giant text box pops up below it, you can simply delete it.
CONTRACT for Non-Violent Communication to Insure a Safe Space in Which Writers and Readers Can Learn
WHEREAS:
We all, each and every one of us, agree to uphold the following tenets
that:
–[Privacy] what we hear and discuss in class in kept WITHIN the walls of the classroom and is not to be discussed outside the classroom
–[Support] we always offer positive feedback PRIOR to critical (“negative”) feedback
–[Objectivity] we always direct our comments “ad rem” and “non ad hominem” (literally: “to the point” and “not to the man/person/not addressing a person’s physical or emotional self”)
let it be known that our room is a safe space for personal enrichment in which all rules of Consent are honored.
