What does “Big Poppa” sound like?

The song’s beat is built around a sample from the Isley Brothers’ 1983 R&B hit “Between The Sheets.” It also prominently features a high-pitched sine wave synthesizer melody, which was a hallmark of West Coast hip-hop at the time. SPIN magazine called it “the East Coast’s long-awaited answer to Dr. Dre’s G-Funk manifestos.”
