Unit 3 proposal
In this unit 3 I want to teach my audience the benefits that traveling can have in their mental health and in their overall life. I want them to know that it is something that they should start to consider as an addition to their life as travel can bring many benefits such as; creativity, strengthen relationships, release stress among many others. The particular audience I would like to reach are people who have never traveled at all or have traveled very little and never stopped and think about the mental advantages that travel brings to the brain. My audience are men and women, young and old there is no age limit. Indeed, my audience is very broad. I am thinking of getting my audience attention by creating something visual like an infographic. I myself think that I learn best by looking at examples or pictures of something I want to learn. I presume that almost everyone is a visual learner and by approaching people with something with cool pictures and by conveying my own experience, and the impact that travel has made in my personal life I can get my audience attention and hopefully get them to give traveling a chance to change their life for the better.
To get started I first intend to get familiar with this website called Venngage. Venngage is a free website where you can create brochures, posters, flyers, infographics and much more. I have already looked at it and it seems like they provide you with pictures they have or I can upload my own pictures for the infographic. Then I will start collecting pictures as well as data from my own research that I can put in the infographic. After I get all the data I will put the information in order. My only concern is how much to write for each picture I will be posting on my infographic. I am limiting myself to 6 pictures for this infographic. I am also concerned about the title of this infographic. What I plan to do is ask my classmates through the group chat we have created their opinion on my title and see how they respond and also ask if they think that based on the title I chose they would want to read my infographic.
How To Start An Online Business: A Quick Recipe
Materials
- phone/tablet/computer
- Any form of social media (facebook/twitter/instagram/tiktok)
- An idea you are passionate about
- A positive attitude and willingness to make mistakes
- Capital to invest in business (not necessary but helpful)
- Appealing artwork for your business
- Slogan for your business
- Reading materials surrounding your business idea
- Materials to create your product
- A small group of friends or people willing to promote your product
- PATIENCE
Directions
Step 1: Develop an idea of what sort of business or service you wish to provide. If you’re struggling with this, ask people what they might need and see if anything matches your skill set.
Step 2: Research the space you wish to enter to better understand the market you are entering.
Step 3: Create some form of social media account or website to promote your product and launch your idea. An instagram business account is recommended.
Step 4: create your page or website. Decorate it with an appealing aesthetic and insert a slogan into your bio.
Step 5: Begin to market your product. This can take a number of weeks to take effect. Spend time fixing your page and going around interacting with the market you are a part of.
Step 6: It might be a good idea to produce some of your product in bulk, so if you’re a singer, have some demos recorded.
Step 7: BE PATIENT- things may be slow at first but keep working at it. Starting off is always the worst part.
Step 8: Treat your clientele well, and serve them accordingly. Don’t change you’re policies to keep customers though, your integrity is worth more than quick money.
Step 9: It is at this point that you reassess why you are doing what you’re doing. Am I in this for some fast money and a few customers? Or do I want this to grow more.
Step 10: Create a plan for long term success
Step 11: Manage your time well and stay active. Provide your product or service until you are ready to take it to the next level.
Step 12: Take it to the next level, this can include a number of things from hiring paid help to reaching out to larger corporations with your idea. At this point you will have built up a portfolio of clients you trust your work.
Servings
- (1) device to access internet
- (As Many as possible) social media forms
- (1) idea you are passionate about. This is important because it encourages specific focus.
- (Any) amount of capital. More is always better though.
- (1 or 2) aesthetically pleasing promotions for your idea/page
- (1) slogan
- (3-4) reading materials about your business space
- (10 to 20 people) who are willing to get the word out about your business. It’s important that it isn’t too few but also not to many people because this may overwhelm you.
Time Needed
This is a platform that can take as much or as little time as you want it to. When starting out however, it is important to note that things may take a very long time. Patience is so important in this process as instant success is rare. It may take a few weeks or even months for you to gain your first bit of clientele. Afterwards however, the length of time depends on how far you want to take things. If you want to keep it at a small side hustle, then you can work as little or as long as you want. If however, you want to build an institution, this may take a number of years. The preparation for this takes a good few weeks, as this is how long it takes to understand the new and unknown space you are entering. Even if you are an expert in the topic, the idea of trying to now provide it as a service or product is completely new and different.
