Extra Credit Assignment on E-Waste

Hi class,

My colleagues in Chicago, Montreal, and Toronto have a project that involves some critical thinking and writing, and so I thought that we might have some discussions about the problem of E-Waste.

If you submit a story to Techno-Trash, I will give you extra credit in the form of one journal credit. We will have time during the next two weeks to work on this in our Lab section.

Library Passageway

AKeem.L.H.W

In this picture, you will see a picture of a passageway between two bookshelves in the Library at City Tech. For this photo, I decided to do something a little different, by adding filters. While adding the filters I notice something unique about this photo and it was the Lighting. I notice every time I would just adjust the lighting, by even one level up or down for the brightness, the photo would show a big difference and it would look bad. The colors in this photo also makes the passageway between the bookshelf look kind of futuristic in a way, juxtapose to the original photo, since the books and bookshelves looks neat and a little blended. Also, the books and bookshelves kind of attracts your eyes in way even though it’s not the main focus, because of the camera angle I used to make the bookshelves look big in its width and height, which is another reason why I like this photo.

Journal 5 : City Tech view

unnamed[1] Here is a photo of the view from the 2nd floor in the Midway building at City Tech. This photograph was taking on October 19th, 2015. The time I took this picture was at 12:44 pm, when I was taking the elevator downstairs. What made me want to take this picture was how the sunlight was hitting the trees and the street. When I look at this picture it makes me feel happy because I feel honored to attend to be a student here at City Tech. Also, I feel excited to play in the basketball court before winter starts.

8th Ave Train Station

This picture was taken on October 18, 2015 at the 8th Ave. Train station. In this photo, you can see some random people waiting on the other side and some trees and the sky can be seen in the background. Also, the railroad in the middle is under construction but the ones on the side is still operating. I decided to take this photo because I think the huge cloud in the back is eye catching. You will think its sunny when you look at the cloud but really there isn’t much sunlight that day in that area.

Queensboro Bridge

IMG_4159

This photo was taking by me on Thursday, Oct 15, 2015 while I was coming back home from upstate NY. It was little traffic once we reached to the city and I was bored and decided to take some pictures. This photograph was my favorite off all because the lighting is so perfect. In this photo the main object is the Queensboro bridge that connects manhattan and queens. Also this pic was taking from near the ocean and everything that is a rounded is reflecting. This is an example of the quote “the city never sleeps.”  Which is true because the lights are never off, its always giving a positive mood on everyone.
