Christmas spectacular

radio city class picture (Small) (1)

I took this picture last year on Christmas eve of Radio City Music Hall on a trip to Manhattan with my mom, 3 sisters and my best friend Bibi. Its located on 50th street and 6th ave, or ave of the Americas, and I took it because of how New York turns into a different world at Christmas time where as in the rest of the year, its busy with business oriented travelers and locals. The iconic sign is not just a staple for a main attraction of  the city, but brings so many shows and performers to participate in the traditional Christmas spectacular that draws crowds from all over the world.

A Day of Fishing

image

This photograph of myself was taken by Jose Hernandez at Pelham Bay Park  on August, 2013 during the summer time. This photograph is really cool because of its composition, as you can see the line that the water make in-front of my feet goes straight and match with my right shoulder, the fishing rod bisect my body in half and the background line goes straight in to my eye.

My Wife's Fight With Breast Cancer

The photograph I choose is by Angelo Merendino and it is a series of photographs that documents his wife’s battle with breast cancer. His wife Jennifer Merendino was diagnosed with breast cancer five months after marring in central park. The photograph was taken on September 30th, 2011. The series of photographs are in black and white. In the photograph you can see the married couple smiling at the camera with clown noses. The dominant impression seems to be blissful given the circumstances of the photograph. It’s clear that Jennifer Merendino is in a hospital bed given that she’s wearing a hospital gown and seems to be lying down on a bed. This photo is very emotion, although having cancer she’s smiling along side her husband; comforting each other.

This picture was taken by me November 4 2013 while I was going to pick up my siblings from school. It was around 4 p.m. What caught my eye in this picture would have to be the trees.I love how the first tree is green, the second tree is green and yellow and the third tree is green, yellow and orange. The dominant impression in this picture is that it is calm. Its calm because there’s not many people on the street, the is sun shining and the leaves are changing colors.

take off

Take off, 2013, Xiuli Wu

This photo was taken on 27 April, 2011 in Coney Island. It was a random sunny day that my friend decided to take pictures at the beach. My friend snapshot a photo of me jumping. Surprisingly, the picture turns out as if I’m taking off and fly to the sky. It gives the feeling of freedom because there is buildings on the upper right corner which tells me that I’m flying away from the city towards the forever extending ocean and sky.

Welcoming Fall By Kimberly Delaney-Riley

photo

I took this picture of a tree in Prospect Park during the Breast Cancer Walk on October 20th 2013. While walking, my eyes automatically focused on this tree. Its beauty was an eye opener. The colors in the tree also let me know that Fall has arrived. What I really like about this picture is how the beautifully blended colors of the tree puts dimension into the picture. As you can see by the way the walkers are dressed, its pretty chilly even though it was really sunny with no clouds in the sky. This picture sets the dominate impression of calm and relaxing. Nature is a beautiful site to see.

Beauty of Nature

84418797

I took this photograph in august 29, 2011 in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic . The picture is a capture of a beautiful park called San Felipe, is a beautiful park because is full of green grass also in the background is the ocean with a mountain in the left side ending with a lightly blue sky, but what attracted me to take this picture is the man who is sitting in the ground recumbent to the second tree from left to right, also I can say that is weird that a beautiful and public space like San Felipe park being enjoyed, just by two people, But this make me feel special because just the man sitting in the ground and my self were delighting the Beauty of Nature.

Central park Bubble Day

20130825_185043_resized(1)

My Brother took this picture in June 12, 2012. I really like this picture because I thought that it was amazing to see the kind of colors the bubble makes. i love the trees in the background and how it was a clear bright day. It sets the dominant impression to be a happy and joyful day in central park and where a lot of people did different activities. I am amazed to see how just two simple sticks put together with a rope and soap can make such an amazing expression.

Beauty in Brooklyn

Beauty In Brooklyn, 2013, Nathasha Morales

I took this picture around august of 2013, the picture is of the sky as the sun is setting. It was on a Sunday at 6 o’clock as I was just getting out of work, I usually walk home after I get out and even though it’s 35 blocks I don’t mind it because the beautiful views I get to see make up for it. I reached the corner at the end of the street where my job is located at, I was about to cross the street when I noticed how beautiful the sky looked that evening and couldn’t help but snap a photo of it. What I find interesting about this photo is how you get a look into what my part of Brooklyn is like, I love how you see the cars in front of me turning the corner although I have the sign to walk, and the electrical wires hanging all around criss-crossing each other, plus you can see Pasta Fresca Ravioli, the Italian restaurant diagonally cross the street from my job. I like the way this picture makes me appreciate the little things in life like the scenery, it’s nice knowing that no matter what’s going on around me, I can always be thankful for the beautiful things put on this earth.
