Describe Your Location

IMG_20141002_163507At my location I tried as best as I could to observe with all of my sense’s. At this location I heard a lot of honking horns like everyother location in New york most likely. I also heard the vents behind me blowing out air from in the building to keep the building cool on the inside, which was louder than I thought it should be. ¬†There were three or four buses that kept passing but when the buses passed they repeatedly starting and stopping again and again. Then while I was listening for other things to happen at this location I thought it was pretty cool that I heard the court house bell. Nexty directly after I heard the court house bell I could hear sirens in the distance, and a helicopter flying over my head. I only felt the heat behind me coming from the sun and the extra large, and loud vents on the building behind me, and the train rumbling the ground below me. I also could smell some great food coming from the men with the carts. ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† I can see these two buildings as my juxtaposition because both of these buildings contrast each other in a big way. The overlap is seen in a great way because the building on the left seems like it was built a very long time ago, but on the other hand the building directly next to it seems it was built in the last few years. I believe my picture captures the juxtaposition in a frame pretty well because all you need is the structure and how each building really looks.

Staccato/Legato Pattern Mash Up Prep and Reflection

Center For Book Arts, Rubin Museum Reflection

During this trip I observed some interesting things. There were many ways that people used to print things way before we have the printers we have today. Pretty much every aspect that went into creating and printing a poster or piece of paper was pretty tedious. At first I thought going to a book arts place would be boring and when the long winded man began talking I thought I was correct but seeing the different zines for myself inspired and excited me to want to make my own zine and learn more about them. Then we went to the museum and the art was slightly disturbing but at the same time interesting, and I did have fun drawing my favorite piece of art at the gallery.

Project #1 Reflectons

My project as a whole was mostly about me and my bio. I wanted to give a lot in that section because we do not all know about each other very well and I really wanted to show who I was. During my time doing this project I learned where in the school is best for me to work, when I do want to work on campus. I was not sure where each lab was and I did not know how quiet or loud it was going to be when I arrived there. Although in the end the best place for me was the library which I only stumbled upon because I went up the stairs the opposite way I usually do. After finishing this project I think the thing that I am most proud of would be that I believe that I have completed all of what is required and I feel confident about it. On the other hand what I believe needs the most work after project one is trying to remeber to write everything in the post instead of on word or google documents, and to fix my grammar mistakes before they happen or before I publish it on to my website. Now, during the process of this project I believe the most heplful was the feact that each requirement was listed and we just chose where each one would go in the essay. Whether we wanted a paragraph for each category, or two catergories in one paragraph it made it easier to accomplish. As of now although I did not have much additional support I am not sure what additional support I might have wanted or needed. Lastly I wrote this project all in one condensed hour an fifteen minutes. My time management has never been the best but I do still feel confident in what I have wrote and as for next time I may start earlier I may not, but in all I beleive this project was a good experience in different ways.

View From My Window : Inked

The only comments I have of my own is that I wish my thumbnails would have been in detail in different ways because the detail was defeated once I colored then in.Inked Thumbnails

View From My Window : Research

IMG_20140909_232409

While I was drawing “The View From My Window” and I was thinking of what I should write, I could not help but notice how many shapes I could recognize. Throughout the whole time I was sketching out my front yard, I was mainly using lines to draw everything. Than I began to make a lot of rectangles, and squares without even realizing. The gates that I can see from my window began to ¬†look like they were just a series of rectangles. The only other recognizable shape in my sketch is the circle I used to create my bush that is in my yard. Lastly the lines that I can recognize would be in the street which is to resemble the traffic lines, and the two lines used for handles on the doors to the basement in the bottom left corner of the sketch.
