Something I learned form this project is that working individual is not always the best way to go because a partner can help you get the job done faster and help you understand something better. Something I could have done is search around for different silhouettes instead of picking the first one I saw. Based off what I learned from this project one thing I would like to take with me to my next project is communication. Communication is key  when coming up with a great project.… Read More...

I enjoyed experimenting with saturation ranges and seeing how one color could transition into another. I had trouble with my Saturation scales making it look sloppy, since I didn’t taper my guide tape when I went to paint it would seep through. I think my atmospheric landscape turned out decent, seeing how the darkest purple showed the closer the object and the lightest purple showed the further the object.… Read More...

Saturation Ranges

I started this project by doing a color wheel on photoshop that was provided to us. I used RGB and CMYK colors on photoshop to complete the regular color wheel. Then,  working with a partner I planned out a unique Color Wheel using birds with different colors while my classmate Bryan used different types of animals.

This was the second part of the project. We used paint to create a saturated scale using saturated primary colors such as red, blue and yellow. We then created secondary colors by mixing our primary colors. Lastly, we created Desaturated Browns … Read More...

DISCOVER

I found this part of the project the easiest and I enjoyed it the most. I also liked that the concept was easy the understand.

DEFINE

this part was the most difficult of the project for me. It was easy at first but eventually having to draw and paint my pieces into paper I found very hard.

DEVELOP

I Felt this project had some good and bad moments for me. I enjoyed the process and learning about values and tones. However I found painting and drawing myself especially hard. I tried my best and this … Read More...

Value Portraits

Discover

This was the first part of the project, where we explored the different types of value ranges. We started with hand portraits and then we moved on to self-portraits. At first, it was difficult for me because it was hard to tell the difference between Narrow Value(light) and broad; I took a lot of broad value hand portraits and I could not get the right Narrow(light) hand portrait but I ended up getting the right one.

This was the second part of the project leading to the final project. This step was a lot harder than part one … Read More...

The use of technology has been part of our everyday life. Have you ever not carry your smartphone for at least a day? People nowadays can just communicate through the use of electronics such as the following: Smartphones, laptops, tablets, iPods, smartwatches, etc. One of the advanced technology throughout the world would be the use of cameras. Cameras had changed over the years. Back in the day when people want to take pictures, they will have Read More...

Pier 5

There is always the hustle and bustle of the city. People everywhere have someplace to be and somewhere to go. But in this fast pace city, inside there are places that have a total different feel a different environment, a slower pace if you will. These places are important just as important as the big building you see in the city. There are not many of these places compared to the busy side of things, but no less we have to pay mind to the places with a slower, calmer environment.

The picture I took was of Pier 5 in … Read More...

This is the final version of my project which is a GIF. I love how everything turned out. Overall my project was a success even though there were some difficulties in between. It has definitely been a while since I’ve last painted. I haven’t painted in a very long time ever since kindergarten. Something I could have done better was painting my self-portrait a little better. I don’t like seeing how my self painted portrait has like different individual shades.… Read More...

To arrive here ,it’s a 5 minute walk. First you would want to come out of City Tech through the Tillary st. entrance. After that, take a right and walk down the block. Take a left and cross the street towards Jay st., when you pass by McLaughlin park , you will make it to City Tech’s midway building and look across the street and there it is.

This is a good example of juxtaposition because it shows two very different pieces of architecture which is the church , looking like it’s mostly made out of brick while we have Read More...
