color harmony

“crazy hexagons ”

I had trouble with this project. I knew what I was suppose to do but I don’t have much experience in illustrator, I decided to play with shape and overall I liked how these colors combined created art. Also with the time pressure it was hectic . Overall I was able to include all color in this process and made it make sense and a balanced feeling to it.

Project 5

I have learned a lot this semester about writing. Although it’s not my favorite subject I have learned to put up with it and take advantage of it. I came into city tech not really knowing the reason behind me wanting to do graphic design, with the help of English1101and my professor I was able to dig into my thoughts and find a reason why? I was pushed everyday to get to know myself. Starting with choosing an avatar, to be honest I never really though such avatar can have such powerful meaning. Until professor gave a whole lecture about it and we spent days trying to figure out the meaning by writing a formal essay about it.

Avatar

As seen above this is the avatar I chose. I believed that this represented me I many different ways. My personality : im full of joy and laughter my aesthetic: I enjoy seeing color working with color and playing with color. I also took this image in an exhibit which I also love doing “exploring”. Not only did I learn more about myself as a person but as a writer I learned that I like speaking my thoughts. I like receiving feedback to be able to correct my mistakes and grow from there. I would take this English 1101 knowledge and bring it to me with the rest of my semesters at city tech. It’ll help me grow and be able to look back at how I started my whole college experience. And not only in school but in like work and other places in which k=who knows ill end up. All the new vocabulary and formats, for example designer statement ” I wrote one for my ComD class and I was able to write it with such a passion , because I wanted to be able to express myself to others and explain to them my goal and how I view my projects. Although they’ll be free to have their own opinion I want to be able to give them an idea of what was going on through my head when creating it and what  better way then writing it!

Overall my experience in English 1101/ first semester of college  was different, something I was able to adapt to and something I still need practice in because there is so much I don’t know .

Me and my partner Kevin had a struggle trying to figure out what icon fit best for one another. But after a a couple days we figured it out. I decided to do a geometric lion for Kevin because I believe Kevin was a very straightforward person , with different personalities. He is the oldest brother and I viewed him as a leader . He’s an example and guides his siblings. I believe Kevin decided to do a dinosaur for me because I love all jurassic park movies.

The process itself was a struggle since i’m still learning all this new vocabulary and getting use to illustrator

part 4

I chose designer statement because I believe writing a designer statement is a lasting way to make an artists piece of work more understanding. My goal in a designer statement is to help the audience understand the meaning behind my work but also give them the freedom to be able to view my work in their eyes , for them to be bale to have their own opinion and critique.

One feature in a designer statement is the process. As a designer it’s helpful to introduce how the piece of art work was created to give the reader a better understanding and an imagination on how things were created based on my piece of work a lot of images were provided so how and when I took these pictures are really important. What I did was usually get a good perspective on the position that I was taking the picture. I Made sure that the image itself made sense , I also either took the image in the day or night. to have that beautiful lighting. I edited these images on photoshop and used certain effects and created a soothing image some with repetition. Another feature in a designer statement is the message . Many artist use the time to talk about their purpose on creating their artwork. It can be really helpful to the view and give them a better understanding on the why? how? and for what?. My message and or purpose on my artwork was mainly to send out positive vibes. My images are mostly consist of images I took in several places. The images are full of bright colors and lights. In my designer statement I talked about my strong interest in color and I talked about my process and explained what I used to create these images. I also explained my goal I planned to reach and I accomplished it fairly. As said in the article http://www.fitnyc.edu/writing-studio/guides/art-design-statements.php

by FIT I can promote my own work of art in the future starting now.

How do you write a designer statement? Well before you even Start your whole project you have to find a purpose to why you’ll be doing your piece of art work to be able to include in your designer stamens, as your creating your piece of artwork keep in mind how you think and how you create it. The process” take a few notes and write certain things yo want the audience to know about your art. Many people can confuse artist stamens with designer statements, but the difference is that in an artist stamens the artist usually completes a piece of work for a client and a designer is usually for themselves.
