Project 3:phase 1

Broad
Highkey
Lowkey

Hours spent- 1 hour

The first image represents broad a broad range image. This is because there a similar amount or equal amount of light and darkness in the image, there’s a neutral clash between light and dark. The second image represents a high-key/light value range. This is because there is mostly light in this image and less darkness or shadows in the image. The last image represents low-key/light value range. This is because there is little to no light in the image, instead there is  mostly darkness and shadows.

Color Harmony: Phase 2

This image shows different kinds of analogous colors because the blues have different shades and so do the oranges. The colors also dragged me in because these are kind if opposite colors.

Color Harmony:Phase 1

Analogous by Erin Smith Glenn
Monochromatic by Basquiat
Complimentary by Irina Nakhova

The first photo is analogous because it’s showing colors that are very close to each other on the color wheel. The second photo is monochromatic because they are mostly the same color but have different tones. The last photo is complementary because it shows red and green which are complementary colors.

Saturation Studies: Phase 1

These are both my color wheels that I finished in class. The one that I created I wasn’t really sure what theme I should go with. Then I realized that all of the things that I chose had to do with nature. It was really easy to do it once I got the hang of it.

Sound Visualization: Phase 4

During this project, I learned how to work photoshop to create a mashup of different pieces of drawings that I made. though I did feel like I wanted to do more, I am still happy with the outcome. I also wish that I had made my inking piece a lot better because the lines were not straight at all, that made me have to put in a black background instead of a white one. in the future, I would like to do this a lot better and with more legato and staccato pieces.  I would also like to learn how to use the animations in photoshop more so that it could be more smooth the next time we do something like this.

perforating

Part of speech: Verb

Definition: “To make a hole through, especially: to make a line of holes in to facilitate separation.”

Site: https://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/perforating

The tool: “what is it makes them think that the plowshare torn from the bowels of the earth by perforating machines,…”

I understand now that a plowshare is a part of the plow, and the plow itself is putting the holes in the ground. when the “plow” in “perforating” its putting holes in the ground that helps for farming and planting seeds.

Sound visualization: Phase 1

These are the sketches that I made for the staccato and legato pieces of music that we did in class. Most of these I didnt use because they were either too much to draw or just didn’t really like it enough to put it on the finishing piece. Some of them were also inspired by some of the muni was listening to.

Sound Visualizations: Phase 3.

Khaleel mashup:

Description: the two songs the I choose were lil skies- lust and Daniel Caesar – get you. I included movements of the pieces and rotation as well. I wish I had done a little more with the opacity and phasing.

Hours: I spent about 4 days working on this project.

Dilapidated

Adjective

Definition- decayed deteriorated or fallen into partial ruin especially through neglect or misuse

this is another word that I found in the text of “here, poverty and privilege are neighbors” in the text it says “To the west, Brighton beach is packed with modest row houses, apartment buildings, dilapidated bungalows, and frame houses,”

i see that this word means to be misused and worn out. I say it has a relationship to the word “patina” which means rusty green or orange look.
