Now i understand that the narrator believed that the nursery was a scary place to be in.
Scary isn’t quite the right meaning for atrocious. Knowing what you do about the wallpaper in the nursery, look again at the definitions for atrocious and choose one that better describes what you think the narrator thinks of the room where she’s living.
