Noticing Fun Things!

Image of pink/scarlet colors flowers

In this image is a mural I stumbled across a little while ago of one of my favorite artist Amy Winehouse. The mural itself is actually just a couple blocks away from the middle school I used to go to but I never really noticed it until I discovered her music and actually started to like it. I find it interesting how it either wasn’t there or I just never noticed it until I actually started to listen to her music so it’s almost like I found it at just the right moment. It even includes the first Amy Winehouse song I ever listened to which is “Back to Black” which in my head just reinforces the ideas I had about the timing of when I discovered it.

Something else I really liked about this image is that the pinks in it reminded me of a photo I took when I was down in South Carolina. The flowers themself were actually near a pool area where me and my sisters decided we would be synchronized swimmers and put on a show for our mom in the hotel room. Overall I just really like the mural and how it reminds me of that trip and the fun we had during that trip. I love that both images involve things I love which are music and flowers and share similar color schemes. This is because even though both pictures were taken months apart in my mind they are very similar because of memories and emotions that are associated and connect them.

As I read your post, I could hear in my head Amy Winehouse singing “Back to Black”–wouldn’t it be great if you could have that music play when someone opens the post?

Those begonias are pretty–though I’m partial to the ones that are a pink-orange. I used to have one of those in my little container garden, but it didn’t survive, unfortunately.
