Today, I started my first day as a design intern at Mdrn. Residential Real Estate on 261 Madison Avenue, Manhattan, N.Y. and I will be working along side their Design Director. There were so many legal documents and their clients are not just any clients, they are high paying clients and they can go from ages 25-55, as long as they are able to afford luxury living. The company was founded in 2013 and is structured as a real estate brokerage and marketeer of distinctive property, as well as private real estate investments. Today, the company consists of 28 members who are real estate agents, marketing director, design director and operations manager.
Everything has to be done in a curtain way and it all has to stay consistent; from e-mail blasts to website design. I use their computer or their laptop so they can keep track of my work and what I’m doing and Mr. Eyal Itzahki really wanted me to be comfortable so he allows me to listen to music while I work and he encourages me to get on social media because they are trying to build up a social media side of their business. He then introduced me to the other agents of their business and everyone surely has their own personalities.
Photo 1: Zachary Ehrlich is the CEO of Mdrn. Real Estate, I do any work he needs me to do and he’s super cool and likes to sing out loud in the office, which is pretty funny.
Photo 2: Eyal Itzahki is the head Design Director of Mdrn. And he is the one who hired me as an intern. He likes to sing out loud too, so he and Zach in the same room is like an awesome episode of glee.
Photo 3: David Mathews is the Marketing Director at Mdrn. And anything that we do goes through him first before it gets released to the clients. He is from London UK and has an awesome British accent.
Photo 4: Naomi Eisenberg is the Operations Manager and she is from Israel. She loves to joke around and it’s never a dull moment when she’s in the room.
These are the main people I work with and if you would like to see the entire list of agents head on over to the Mdrn. Website.
The office is casual professional, unless there is a meeting that Mr. Zach Ehrlich tells us about ahead of time, then for that day it’s all formal and professional. The work space is unique in that on the glass walls there are quotes about success hand written all over and everyone is really friendly and jokes around a lot.
My first assignment for Mdrn. Was to just style some legal documents, to make them look like they come from Mdrn by added the logo as header and their address and phone number at the footer and establish hierarchy in the documents, but do not what so ever delete anything. I found it interesting that even documents they never use or that are really old, they still keep them all; they keep all of their documents no matter what. I was so nervous on my first day, that I started to fumble on the documents and Mr. Eyal Itzhaki had to correct me. I hope I gain more confidence next week because this was embarrassing.
