Silhouette Project

This project involved using the pen tool in Illustrator to outline a silhouette of a dynamic figure, which in this case, is an athlete. I used an image of the LA Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma, from a game where he is about to shoot the basketball. Most of this project relied on intricate use of the pen tool to get every curve and every detail, which was key to making the silhouette look so sharp. I also added colors to distinguish different parts of the figure, which added to how vivid the entire silhouette is.

Logo Project

For this project, I created a logo using basic elements of Illustrator, including shapes, the brush tool, different fill and strokes, along with some work using the pen tool. The logo I’ve created is a unique, bold look on a flower crown, with spontaneous elements showing that any creativity can prove how much it’s really worth. This was my very first project, and I do like how it turned out, but it probably could have been a lot better. When I started creating the logo, I was just going for any shape that looked decent. I didn’t want to use the standard shapes that came with Illustrator, so I tried to change them a bit to create something different and more personal. The flowers do resemble the ones from Spongebob, which wasn’t really my goal, but just what ended up happening. I probably could have used the pen tool to just outline a flower instead that would have looked a lot better, and tried to curve the crown more so it would look more realistic.
