Week 11 through 15

PART C:  HEALTH CARE ISSUES AND NON-CLINICAL CAREERS

During Weeks 11 through 15, students will continue to learn introductory information about the U.S. health care system as well as career opportunities in mental health, substance abuse, human services, and health services administration. Students will read through the websites and view the videos that are posted below. From these activities, you should be able to define terms, provide examples, and describe organizations. 

It is recommended that you write notes as you review these materials because they will be helpful when completing written assignments and preparing for the final exam.  


Week 11 – Mental health and social services professions

Objectives: To provide an overview of mental health and careers that address mental health and substance abuse issues (as well as health worker burnout)

Week 13 – Technology and health; Social marketing in health care

Objectives: To understand the difference between medical technology and health information technology and the roles they play in the delivery of health care services. To learn about social marketing in healthcare.
