5% participation
10% quizzes
10% Webwork
20% highest test
20% second highest test
35% final exam

Homework & Webwork:
While homework from the textbook will not be collected, you are responsible for all exercises listed here. Quiz questions will be based on them.

You will be responsible for completing online homework using CityTech’s Webwork system. Homework sets will usually be due twice per week. Details will be announced in class and on the OpenLab. Webwork accounts for 10% of your overall grade.
 

Quizzes:
There will be a short quiz at the beginning of class each Thursday for weeks when there is no term test scheduled. Quiz questions will be based on homework questions from the textbook. Latecomers will not receive extra time. No make-up quizzes will be given. Quizzes account for 10% of your overall grade.

 

Tests:
There will be three tests given in class. Latecomers will not receive extra time. Your lowest test grade will not count toward your overall grade. No make-up tests will be given. If you miss a test, your grade will be entered as 0 and will count as the lowest grade which is dropped. Any student who misses two tests will be automatically withdrawn from the class.
Tentative test dates:
Test 1: Thursday, March 5
Test 2: Tuesday, March 31
Test 3: Thursday, April 30

 

Final Exam:
The final exam will be given in class during the last class meeting of the semester. It covers all topics studied. It must be taken to pass the course.

Exam date: Thursday, May 21
The final exam accounts for 35% of your overall grade.

 

Participation:
You are expected to participate in class and in online discussion on the OpenLab. Details will be announced in class. You will be assigned a participation grade out of 5.
