Christina Cantone, Poems (Revised)

  1.  Letting Go

It’s a sad sorrow. I must say goodbye

Our life is proof that our love did not die

but will live on till the end of all time

.

I’m so sorry for the trouble I caused

These words are hard cause with every word

my heart breaks a little more till the last string falls

Though this may hurt now I hope you move on

be happy and free this is the last gift from you to me

.

this is my will so let it be,

be strong my love and don’t come for me

I’m eternally grateful for the love we shared

but in the end it hurt both paired.

.

Don’t be pained your perfect in every way but in the end I can not stay.

As my heart ache grows I must leave but know one thing.

I will love you with every breath I take till the last curtain falls.

.

  1.  Voices Arise

And we’ll rise and we’ll rise to the morning sun

and we’ll rise and we’ll rise to the kingdom we have won.

We beat them all we stood our ground

now the darkness is no longer found.

.

We avenged our king

At long last, now the light can come back.

And we’ll rise and we’ll rise to the morning sun

and we’ll rise and we’ll rise to the kingdom we have won.

The demons and shadows have run away

back in which, the direction they came.

.

Being here is only half the fight

but it’s one step closer in showing our might.

And we’ll rise and we’ll rise to the morning sun

and we’ll rise and we’ll rise to the kingdom we have won.

.

  1. The Second Time Around

I’ll find my way all over again

I’ll make it through I’ll play pretend.

There’s no way my story will end.

I’ve made my peace at a second attempt.

Will you still be my friend.

It’s ok for this chain of events

cause I know now that I was a trend.

.

Way up high then forgotten about.

All I want is to scream and shout.

Living this has made me see

All the thing I wanted to be

.

Its ok and I ‘m fine

are words I say all the time

I am a person not just a thing

I have emotions I have emotions you see.

.

  1. Healing

I can see the pain in your eyes you

can’t run and hide

those beautiful gray eyes

betray you every time.

.

I miss him too just like I miss you.

Your love and mine were a different kind

but it was all the same to the rain.

You and I both needed him

but in the end no one wins.

He hurt us both without a second thought

but you do know it’s not his fault.

.

He’s watching from up above

His spirit like a dove.

He did love the both of us.

His memory will live on

in the hearts of everyone

.

He’s at peace, he’s at rest

there’s not more to his quest.

It may be time to heal these wounds

the ones he tore into me and you.

It’s time to forgive him for leaving us

but know one thing, he will always be loved.

I really enjoyed the connection between your poems. While it may not be purposeful, they almost encompass the stages of grief, including the titles.
