There was one simple thing that ended up changing my personality:
Going to high school.
I haven’t really trimmed down the story for you, that’s honestly the whole deal. I didn’t get some revelation, I just decided that I wanted to be more… active? There’s probably a word for it, but it doesn’t come to mind right now.
Ever since high school, I’ve been more into activities and assignments that interest me because I figured that’s the easiest way to make school less prison-like. I have to do assignments, so I might as well have fun while doing it.
Solo presentations are my favorite. Everyone else has such little energy that I basically get a free pass to try out some parts of a comedy routine to try and get them laughing. Group projects really aren’t my thing; rarely people can keep up with my work ethic or the energy I try to maintain throughout the process.
That’s just how it is though, and I like it that way. If I didn’t go to high school, I’d probably be a boring blob.
