To incoming Class of Spring 2021,

My name is Robert Rampersaud, for my Fall 2020 I have taking a few classes this semester. I’m three classes away from finishing with my bachelor degree, and I can not wait. It’s going to be a big step for me to continue my future plans. But the main reason for this letter, I want to inform you about the Creative Writing Course. In this course one reading assignment and writing assignment stood out to me the must, and with our current pandemic of the COVID-19 I will explain how to survive the online course.

During my Fall 2020 semester there were 1 reading assignment and 1 writing assignment that stood out the most to me. One writing assignment is visit a place that is buzzing with activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, and for this assignment I picked Forest Park. My short story “The Buzzing Forest Park” is a warm sunny day that I decided to go for a run, and my story described all the activities that was going on during my run. As we moved forward from that assignment, we had a reading assignment by Ursula K. Le Guin’s “The Wife’s Story” which stood out to me the most. This story I had to read it a few times to understand it. I was thinking of a human tell a story about her human husband turning into a wolf, but it was the opposite. It was a wolf telling the story of her wolf husband turning into a human like creature. The reason I like this story is how good of detail it is, and the way the writer made you really think about what is happing.  The reading and writing assignment definitely were the best this semester.

My online experiences were great this semester. I did not have to go in person to class which saved me a lot of time commuting to school, and I was able to get more rest taking online course. Taking creative writing for online course is great, but it is a lot more workload compare to going to class in person. When the assignment was giving out on a Friday, I tried to finish as much as I can because I don’t know what the next week will being. My advice to other students taking this course is do not let the work pile up because it would become stressful with your other classes. I used my phone to complete my reading assignment and writing assignment instead of scrolling through social media. It will make a difference.

Creative Writing course is more for a person that wants to be a writer in the future, but this course does have a positive impact to other students. In this Creative Writing you will be writing a lot more, but it is a positive thing especially if you need to improve your writing. For my current career I have to send out multiple emails a day, so I took creative writing to be a better writer. Writing is a reflection of yourself, so I always want to send out the best email.

Sincerely,

Robert Rampersaud
