Reviewer’s Name: Mohammed Hashim

Title of Piece: The Wife’s Story       Author’s Name: Ursula K. Leguin

Plot: The story started with a hint of a lost loved one. The author describes how she met her husband, where she met him and how much she loved him. She also describes what kind of person her husband was. He was a good man, a good father and a nice person overall. They had their own kids and they were a happy family until the husband couldn’t make it after he went hunting one day.

Question- What kind of environment did you guys specifically live in?

Characters: I like the way she describes her husband as if he is the nicest person there is but his father had some issues apparently has to do with their blood being of some type of a white weird looking creature. I also enjoyed the bits about her sister, she seemed really nice and caring.

Question- What happened to your parents?

Point of View: The story was told by the author’s perspective, as a first person. She only showed her view of her husband being all perfect. We didn’t know what was the husband going through being himself. From the way the story goes her husband seems like a great family guy that likes to go hunt a lot.

Question– Do you ever go hunting?

Setting & Context: The story takes place near a lake and maybe a jungle where you can go hunting. Even though we never learned about the husband successfully hunting a game we got to read about how he was killed in his true form. The husband turned into a different creature and was hunted by wolves of some sorts, right by the house.

Voice & Style:

Question- What kind of creature were your husband supposed to be?

I agree with you Mohammed on your POV. Since the story was told from the wife respective, it was one-sided and we did not get the hunbands POV on anything.

Hi Mohammed nice critique, to answer your last question I think that the husband is a werewolf because the wife descripes him morphing and then eating her sister and those are characteristics for wearewolfs.
