These past two weeks, we’ve been reading and listening to the voices of people whose discourse communities have often been silenced: Frederick Douglass and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. We’ll spend time looking at their powerful writing strategies and thinking about how we can do the same.

This week, you need to start digging down and writing your letter or speech. If you haven’t decided which you’re going to do, this week’s the week to do it! If you’re still unsure, we’re doing some activities to help you along.

We’re also going to study the ways to insert quotes into your speech or letter by implementing the “quote sandwich.”
