It was important to them because they wanted to connect a social justice issue with the play, Antigone. They wanted for the people in the audience to see how the issue of police brutality can be connected to the play. For Antigone in Ferguson, I believe that they wanted people to see how powerful a play can be. They want to show that there can be deep meaning behind them.  I think that they included people from the police force to show the different backgrounds the crew comes from and how they can still be working towards one goal. I think that they wanted to show that just because one police officer is bad, it doesn’t mean that they’re all bad. Watching Antigone in Ferguson, it’s not what I expected. I thought that there would’ve been different acting and different settings, etc. However, I did enjoy that they added a choir and music, that definitely changed my view of the original play.
