Hi Christian, thank you for the questions, and here are their answers in order:

      1. You can go to the dental hygiene page on the city tech website and see “sample course of study” which gives a semester-by-semester required courses for that degree. https://www.citytech.cuny.edu/dental/dental-hygiene-aas.aspx
      2. For every major the time varies on when you can start the actual major courses, depending on when you finish the prerequisites and when you get into the program. Keep in mind that for dental hygiene, you need to take prerequisite courses and then apply to the program and once you are accepted to the program, that’s when you begin taking their major courses. If you follow this sample guidance, it will lead you to when you can apply. I would also recommend making an appointment with an advisor from the Dental hygiene department and coming up with a plan specifically designed for you.
      3. All depends on when you finish your prerequisite courses and then apply to the program, once you are accepted to the program that’s when you can start your major courses.

I highly recommend sitting down with an advisor as soon as you can and making a plan. Before you make an appointment make a rough plan by downloading a copy of the “Academic career planner” for yourself and show it to the advisor so that you have something to follow afterward. https://www.citytech.cuny.edu/advisement/planner.aspx
