Week 1 Journal Entry

Hi Everybody, for those who don’t know me, my name is Jorge, my friends call me George. I’m an Emerging Media senior student. I worked with Arduinos 2 years ago in Prof. Marsh’s Interactive design class, where we used Processing for programming. I actually bought one for myself and tried a few things with it. Later on I learned Java fundamentals in CST 1100 and 1201. Programming is not my thing. I’m more inclined towards film and video, but all knowledge comes handy, and I’m open to learn more about controllers and interfaces, and how they can be integrated to enhance an interactive display experience;  involving video mapping.

Video Mapping has taken quite  bit of my time, is still obscure science for me, and for many enthusiasts, but I’m very close to nailing down all the ins and out of projecting images over irregular surfaces and even going into 3d projections, Xfingers. I also like building stuff and working with my hands setting up things, building sets, etc. In my first IDTP course 2 years ago, I was responsible for building the structures where we set all the sensors and controllers for a class exhibit. I hope we can all have fun, and learn from each others experience, good luck everyone.

    Hi Jorge!

Are you learning Video Mapping by yourself, or there is a special class on this subject? What kind of software are you using?

    Thank you!
