Teachers and students pulled out their smartphones when President Obama visited Mooresville Middle School in Mooresville, N.C., in 2013. On average, children are getting their first smartphones around age 10.

A) What story does this picture inspire for you? Write about a memory from your own life that this picture makes you think of–or use your imagination to write the opening of a short story of journal entry from the perspective of one of the people pictured.~ OR ~ 

B) A New York Times article says that, on average, children are getting their first smartphones around age 10. That is down from age 12 in 2012. Is that too young? Why or why not?
