Abstract

An Abstract is just a short summary of what is in a paper. In your case, your Abstract will be a short summary of what would be in your Research Paper (if we had written the whole thing).

ASSIGNMENT:

Your abstract will need to contain the following elements:

  • Explanation as to why this is an important topic to talk about now
  • Thesis Statement (Claim + 3 Reasons)
  • An explanation of how each source (from the Annotated Bibliography) will contribute to the paper.
  • What is the importance of your conclusion? (Meaning, you proved your Thesis true– so who cares? what does this tell us? what is the next step?)

DIRECTIONS:

300 words minimum

Your Abstract should be typed, double-spaced, 12pt, Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins.

Your name, my name, the due date, the class and section number, and the assignment should all appear at the top of your first page (NO cover page).

Your Abstract MUST be edited for grammar, typos, and readability; failure to do so will result in a lower grade.
