I completed 160 hours of clinical experience through the JFEW Scholarship in a Periodontal office. During this time, I focused on shadowing the dental hygienists to see how they manage more complex cases.
This was a great opportunity because it allowed me to see how a specialist office treats periodontal disease. It was different from my past experiences and helped me learn more about how hygienists talk to patients and handle difficult clinical situations.
