What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out as a new student at City Tech in your major?
I have learned a lot about the way the industry works and what is needed in order to get a job and keep a job.
Some advice I would give to someone just starting out is to be patient and try your best.
Something I learned in my major this semester is that it uses a lot of math, like physics and calculus, and you really have to practice a lot. Something I would recommend to a new student is to use the support that City Tech offers, like tutoring
Something interesting I learned about my major is the terms used for architecture as I didn’t know that hierarchy or nodes were terms used for architecture. Some advice I’d give to someone who is just starting out as a new student at City Tech in my major is have fun and be creative with projects.
Something that I learned about my major its that maybe it not going to be easily but it have so many interesting things and that you have to take a lot of class.

Something that is interesting to me that I’ve learned from my major is that my classes aren’t even very difficult at all it’s just I’m so procrastinatitive.
Well I learned that I am enrolled in the wrong program as civil engineering technology is an associates degree program, to earn your PE license you need a bachelors. However city tech’s construction engineering program is a bachelors degree, so i guess I’m transferring.
Make sure you’re being enrolled in the right program, do your own research don’t just listen to the enrollment advisors.
One important thing I’ve learned about being an architecture major is that it’s not just about designing buildings. it’s about paying attention to small details and understanding how people actually use a space. It takes patience and a lot of creativity.
My advice to new architecture students at City Tech is: don’t fall behind on studio work, ask for help when you’re stuck, and always save your files. Also, don’t stress if your first designs aren’t perfect. everyone improves with practice.
One important thing I’ve learned about studying architecture is that be creative with yourself, shows those crazy and amazing ideas inside your head. Don’t let your creativity feel simple just because you see other ideas, be yourself and enjoy the process cause there maybe lows but you can always have a solution to solve it.
Something interesting that I earned about my major is the AIA program for architecture students. It’s a club that focuses on architecture and architects, and I wa told it looks good on your resume.
The advice Id give would be to a new student just starting out in my major is to not over stress it, but to actually review their syllabus and plan accordingly. The dates are already there and usually there’s no really any wiggle room so its better to be organized and prepped in order to submit work on time.
