ADAY in the sustainable world

In a fast paced environment like the Fashion industry is, brands sometimes end up cutting corners to fulfill consumers needs fast, it’s called fast-fashion. In a new world filled with never ending trends, the world of fast-fashion has had a tremendous growth with new brands coming out. Brands such as Fashionnova, Prettylittlething, Zara, H&M, Forever21, etc, can be considered some of the top fast-fashion retailers out there. The brands have been part of sweatshop controversy, these are factories that employ women, men and underage children to work in an environment that is not safe. But fast-fashion has brought more problems than just an emphasis on sweatshop tragedies, it’s killing our planet.  Although the products these retailers offer to their consumers can be affordable, the production causes the oceans to become polluted with 10% of microplastic (McFall-Johnsen, M., 2019).

Modern day, the world has acknowledged these issues and we have the world of sustainability rapidly growing. People have become more concerned about the quality of clothes rather than the quantity they have. Although sustainable clothes can sometimes be a bit pricey, people are willing to spend the money on it knowing it has great features such as logentivity, great quality fabric, but most importantly the history of the production. Brands such as ADAY, a sustainable brand, is a great example of how much owners are taking in consideration the issues taking place in the industry but most importantly how these issues are affecting our home planet.

ADAY is a New York based brand with qualities such as longevity, the use of recycled materials and use of solar power for the operation of their machine(Thisisaday.com., n.d.).  ADAY offers women’s comfortable elevated workwear, basics, loungewear, knitwear, and swimming products (Thisisaday.com., n.d.). Another great feature about ADAY is they like to offer a minimalist aesthetic, meaning more of a simple look. Simple looks can too be eye catchy and very professional looking (Thisisaday.com., n.d.).

When it comes to quality, ADAY works with engineers around the world to find state of the art technologically advanced fabric and factories with innovative technology techniques (Thisisaday.com., n.d.). ADAY uses fabrics such as silks and what they call “superhero powers,” which are fabrics that construct long lasting and thermo-regulating garments (Thisisaday.com., n.d.). Unlike other brands, ADAY offers seasonless products. Many of us spend money on new clothes every season which sometimes it’s honestly unnecessary but with ADAY each piece of clothing they offer is able to adapt to any weather or occasion (Thisisaday.com., n.d.).

Overall if you are looking for a sustainable brand with similar clothes like ZARA and H&M offer then ADAY is the perfect brand for you. Although their prices range from $60 and up, you are getting a great return on investment with their products (Thisisaday.com., n.d.). I would say that the age group ADAY targets is from 25-40 years of age female. ADAY is heading on the right direction when it comes to sustainability.
